received a letter for an interview, we start to worry about everything for that
interview. Few questions come into our mind about the interview, One of them is:-
how to dress up for interview?
It really plays an important role in interview, as it is also a part of the personality the
interviewers observe. When we are ill-dressed and casually dressed neither we will be confident nor we will feel good about ourselves while observing other
interviewees who are waiting with us.
Being overdressed is better than being under dressed, but try
to dress appropriately. If you are dressed perfectly, it gives you the
confidence and you feel very comfortable and prepared. It is quite normal for
many of us to select what to wear & How to be dressed up?
If you have confusion it is better to ask your friends,
seniors, relatives who have faced it. Because a small error may be turned into
a blunder. See the appropriately and nicely dressed person makes his first
impression on the interviewer.
Being dressed is also an integrated part of interview preparation,
thus it is too be taken seriously. Because even if someone is very knowledgeable,
potential candidate but he/she may get rejected due to being dressed
inappropriately.
What to wear & How to wear?
- One should wear the formals ,which are good and appropriate however it should be in sober color. The dress must be ironed. The shirt must be tucked –in nicely. The socks must be dark color or it is better if matching with the trouser as if the trouser rise up while sitting it would not distract and would not look odd. Full sleeve shirt must be selected and a formal tie not a fancy or casual tie.
- Formal shirts like plain shirts, striped ,checkered shirts and trouser of light colors should be used. While in winters put a formal blazer or business suits are better to put on.
- Watch is good to go but Piercing, tattoos ,funky jewelry, accessories must be avoided as these are the contributing factors of rejection.
- Hair style must be professional ,hair must be combed properly. Do not go with untrimmed and funky beard ,sideburns and mustache. If you have beard and mustache then do not forget to trim if they are really necessary otherwise avoid them.Avoid smelling oil in your hair
- Perfume & deodorant must be mild as strong fragrances may irritate the interviewer as we have also observed many times about it.
- While going for the interview, make up should be light.
- Nails must be cleaned and must be trimmed.
- Shoes must be formal either Black or Brown .The color of the shoes and belt should match.
Conclusion:-
Dressing sense is very important in personal as well as professional life. A good dressing sense not only makes you confident but brings a good appearance in the eyes of others as People contacts are very frequent. Interview is an important event so if we are prepared in every aspect including the attire for the interview we will be able to give our 100% and will have high potential if we are confident and convinced with our home work.
